How To Boil An Egg or Multiple Eggs

Whether you are boiling 1 egg or 12, the steps are Exactly the same!

What You will Need:

  1. A Large Pot
  2. A Lid that fits the Large Pot
  3. Water
  4. Eggs (as many that will comfortably fit into the pot)

Let's Get Boiling!

  • Fill a nice big pot (if you are using more than 2 or 3 eggs, otherwise, you can use a smaller pot. I always use a large sauce pot) with water
  • Gently Place each egg into the pot of water (Yes, Before you even turn the stove burner on)
  • Place the pot on a burner and set the burner to High (Do Not Leave the Stove While the Pot is Heating)
  • Allow the water to get to a nice Rolling Boil (when the water is in FULL boiling action, the bubbles will literally look like their rolling in the water)
  • As soon as the water gets to that Rolling Boil, Remove the pot from the hot burner and place it on a pot holder on the counter or on a cold burner that isn't being used—Turn Off the Burner You Were Using
  • Immediately cover the pot with a lid
  • Set a timer for 16 minutes and leave
  • After 16 minutes, carefully strain the water from the pot
  • When the pot is empty of all of the hot water (leaving the eggs in the pot), fill the pot with Cold water
  • Let the eggs sit in the cold water for a few minutes
  • They are now ready to be eaten or placed in a bowl and put in the refrigerator!
