How To Find Your Website Sitemap

 If you are submitting your website to search engines; you will find that having a site map of your website is a must—as it is a literal map of your entire site, which allows search engine crawlers to find and crawl your site thereby leading to better search results. Whatever reason you find that you need a sitemap, here you'll learn just how easy it is to locate and download it.   Click on the images below to enlarge.

What is a Sitemap?



 STEP ONE


  • Open your browser

STEP TWO


  • In the address bar, type your website url directly followed by /sitemap.xml (see the image below)

STEP THREE

  • After you type in the address above, click Enter
  • Immediately after you click Enter a pop-up window should appear (location of the pop-up window will depend on which browser you are using).   
  • Click 'Save' to save to your computer as a .xml file.  This will be the file you will need to upload to various search engines (such as GOOGLE).


Click 'Save' to save your sitemap to your computer
